Driver Management

All drivers are required to produce their driving licence for inspection annually.

Drivers using their own vehicles for business use are required to produce evidence of insurance and vehicle MOT.

Drivers are advised to consider driving factors when arranging journeys to make due allowance for overall working time, tiredness, road conditions and adverse weather. They are authorised  to take appropriate breaks and refreshments they consider necessary to travel safely.

Drivers are required to plan long journeys in advance making allowance for adequate breaks and preparation of suitable directions.

Drivers are reminded to drive within the law and in particular to allow adequate room in front of their vehicle at all times.

Vehicle safety

Drivers are advised to

Examine vehicle for obvious defects before making any journey.

To check tyre wear and pressure, windscreen washer level, engine oil and water coolant levels on a regular basis.

Telephone

Drivers are advised not to make or receive any telephone calls while driving.

Drivers are instructed not to use hand held mobile phones while driving.
